Privacy notice
Last updated 11 September 2026
We collect as little as we can. There are no tracking cookies, we never sell or share your details, and you can leave the mailing list from a link in every email.
Who we are
The Leicester Events Guide is published by The Robot Needs Home Collective, 44 St Margarets Road, London N17 6TY. For anything to do with your data, write to [email protected].
If you sign up to a newsletter
We store your email address, which of the two newsletters you chose, any kinds of event you said you were interested in, and the dates you signed up and confirmed. We use this only to send you the newsletters you asked for.
We ask you to confirm by clicking a link, so nobody can be added without their say so. Our lawful basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it whenever you like.
We keep your address until you unsubscribe. Every email has links to leave one newsletter, leave both, or change what you get. You can also email us and we will take you off.
The emails are delivered by Resend, who send them on our behalf and can see your address. They do not use it for anything else.
If you submit an event or a listings page
We store what you send us, including your email address if you choose to give one, so we can check the listing and come back to you with any questions. Submissions are deleted within 90 days of being dealt with. Events we approve stay on the site until the date has passed.
Visits to the site
We count visits without cookies and without tracking anybody. Each day we turn your network address and browser into a short one way code, mixed with a secret only we hold, and count the codes. That code changes every day and cannot be turned back into anything that identifies you, so we cannot follow you from one day to the next or recognise you anywhere else. We also record which site sent you here, and which event listings get opened, so we know what people find useful. We keep these counts for about 13 months. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding whether the guide is working.
What the site keeps on your device
Your filter choices and whether you prefer light or dark mode are saved in your browser so the site looks the same next time. They stay on your device and are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them. The only cookie we set is for our own admin login, which is just us.
Where it all lives
The site runs on our own server in the United Kingdom. Cloudflare sits in front of it and forwards our email, and Resend delivers the newsletters.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email [email protected] and we will answer within a month. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
